To that end, this is our first Big Question post. The way this will work is we will present a question or idea to start a discussion. Your feedback and comments will provide a fuller understanding of all of the different viewpoints. See what others think, share your own thoughts.
Todays question:
What does sustainability mean to you?
We have discussed and researched this topic in great detail, and yet we do not have a singular answer between us. We would love to hear what you think.

ReplyDeleteMy definition of sustainability is constantly being reworded and tweaked as I learn more about different interpretations and conceptualizations of the term. To me, sustainability means:
ReplyDelete"The humanistic effort of maintaining AT LEAST, the current overall quality of life for ALL inhabitants throughout an indefinate number of future generations."
This definition really leaves out the WHAT question as in what is being done to promote this effort.
As far as what sustainability means to me in my life.
It means Conciously reducing my carbon footprint and evaluationg just how much I really need to use my vehicle. It means shopping for things knowing the possilble global consequence of my choices. It means recycling at every opportunity. I also think it is very important to show others who are less sustainable.
I can only do my part but I can promote ecologically sound practices in other through constructive criticisms of poor ecological behavior.
The term is impossible to fully define as it means so many different things to different people. Let's hear what this means to others!
